Metro invites input in advance of Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center opening


Public hearing on route changes and relocation of bus stops

Metro is preparing to open the new Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center, located on the corner of New Hampshire Ave. and University Blvd. in Langley Park. When it opens, the new state-of-the-art facility will accommodate 11 bus routes and serve 12,000 passengers daily, and several bus stops in the surrounding area will be relocated to the new facility.

The transit center features eight bus bays with safe, convenient pedestrian access, an outdoor covered customer waiting area and restrooms. Metrobus, Ride On, TheBus, and University of Maryland shuttle buses are planning to serve the facility.

Metro is seeking input from riders on the proposed changes through a public hearing and written comments.

The public hearing will be held:

Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.
Langley Park Community Center
1500 Merrimac Drive
Hyattsville, Maryland 20783

Shuttle bus service will be provided to the hearing from all bus stops nearby the transit center (click for map). Buses will run every 20 minutes before, during and after the hearing to transport riders to and from the Langley Park Community Center.

Members of the public who wish to submit a written statement can email the Metro Office of the Secretary at writtentestimony@wmata.com.  Statements must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, to be considered part of the public record.
