Travel Information

  • The closest Metro stop to the start of the race is Smithsonian Station (Blue/Orange/Silver lines). This weekend, Orange, Silver and Green line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals. Red, Blue and Yellow line trains will operate every 24 minutes due to scheduled work.
  • To avoid lines after the race, participants are encouraged to load enough value on their SmarTrip or paper fare card for their entire round trip.
  • If using a paper farecard, remember that a $1 surcharge is applied for each trip.  Also, be sure to protect your farecard from moisture during the race.

The additional hour of Metrorail service is funded by an agreement with event organizers.
