Metro announces full restoration of aboveground service on the Green Line

As of 4 p.m., Metro has restored Green Line service from Fort Totten to Greenbelt.  With the restoration of this service, Metro has now reopened 79 of its 91 Metrorail stations.

In addition; trains are currently running every 15 minutes or less, and Braddock Road Station has reopened.  Fares will not be charged on Metrorail on Monday, January 25.

Metro has already restored service on the following Metrorail lines:

  • Blue Line: Largo Town Center to Huntington
  • Yellow Line: Mt. Vernon Square to Huntington
  • Orange Line: Ballston to New Carrollton
  • Red Line: Medical Center to Glenmont
  • Green Line: Entire route is being served
