For immediate release: February 15, 2016

Metro weather update: Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 - 1 p.m.

Metro is continuing to monitor winter weather conditions throughout the region.

As of 1 p.m., Metrorail is operating with no significant disruptions. Bus service is operating on a severe snow plan due to current road conditions.

SERVICE INFORMATION

  • Metrorail: Due to the holiday, trains are operating on a Saturday schedule on all lines (departures about every 12 minutes). There are no weather-related issues to report as of 1 p.m. Specially equipped trains have been deployed to keep the tracks and 3rd rail clear of ice and snow.

  • Metrobus: All Metrobus service is operating on a severe snow plan, which provides service on 79 routes along major roadways only. Click here for more information on how buses operate under a severe snow plan.

As of 1 p.m. there are two exceptions to the severe snow plan:
    • 1A service is not operating due to road conditions.
    • 52, 54 service is operating between 14th/Colorado & downtown DC only (no service north of Colorado).

For details, please check the Bus Alerts page.
  • MetroAccess: Paratransit service for customers with disabilities is operating; however, customers are advised of possible delays due to road conditions. If door-to-door service is not possible due to conditions, then curb-to-curb service will be provided instead.
