This weekend: shuttle buses replace trains between Shady Grove and Grosvenor for track work

Green Line will single track between U Street and Georgia Avenue-Petworth

Metro is reminding customers that part of the Red Line will close this weekend as crews install cabling for cell service and Metro Transit Police radios. Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Shady Grove and Grosvenor-Strathmore. 

Shady Grove, Rockville, Twinbrook, and North Bethesda stations will be closed for rail service. 

Red Line trains will run between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Glenmont every 8 minutes during the day and every 10 minutes after 9:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Green Line will single track between U Street and Georgia Avenue-Petworth with trains running every 16 minutes. Crews are replacing platform edge lights.

The Blue, Orange, Silver, and Yellow lines will have normal service.
