Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center

September 20, 2015 marked the opening of the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center. This new transit center is located next to our Red Line Metrorail station and features more than 30 bus bays serving Metrobus, Montgomery County Ride-On, VanGo and the University of Maryland shuttle.


The fully ADA accessible Transit Center is three levels with a number of new customer amenities including real-time bus departure information, public restrooms, water fountains, escalators, bike racks/lockers, and enhanced neighborhood map displays. The TRiPS Transit Store will be located on Level 2 and be open weekdays, 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed weekends).

Kiss & Ride spaces will be available on Level 3, accessible from Bonifant Street.


Metroway premium bus service Metroway, Metro's premium bus service, offers unique customer amenities including bus-only lanes for the most congested portions of the route.

Electronic Next Bus Signs

Metro's electronic Next Bus signs display real-time arrival information, route information, and Metro Alerts at more than 170 bus shelters throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
