Metro plans full-scale security exercise at Largo Town Center Station, Sunday, September 29

Metro Transit Police and the Prince George’s County Police Department will conduct a full-scale law enforcement exercise on Sunday morning (September 29, 2019) at the Largo Town Center Station.

The live exercise will simulate an active threat at or near the Largo Town Center Metro Station and test the ability of first responders to execute an integrated tactical response, incident management, coordination and communication between first responders, rail operations staff and support personnel.

Metro Transit Police, Prince George’s County Police, and Prince George’s County Fire & Rescue will participate in the exercise.

Customer Information

During the exercise, Largo Town Center Station will be closed to the public from opening until approximately 2 p.m.

  • Buses will replace trains between Largo Town Center and Morgan Blvd.
  • Customers will have access to the bus bay area on the north side of Largo Town Center Station and Metrobus will operate regular Sunday service.
  • Members of the public in and around Largo Town Center may notice a large number of law enforcement and emergency vehicles. People may also hear the sound of simulated ammunition (blanks) during the drill. Please be assured that this is only a drill.
