Twinbrook Escalator Replacement
Advisory Effective: 1/15/24 - 4/23/24
On January 15, 2024, Metro will begin a major capital project replacing the platform escalator at Twinbrook. The escalator will be replaced with a brand-new one that is more durable and reliable. The escalator is being installed as part of an ongoing Escalator Replacement Project to replace 130 escalators across the Metrorail system by 2028.
How will this work affect my trip?
This project will replace one escalator at Twinbrook Station. Station entrances, the elevator, and the stairs adjacent to the escalator will remain open throughout construction.
How long will the project take?
The escalator replacement is expected to be complete in May 2024.
