Pentagon City Station Elevator Rehabilitation
Advisory Effective: 7/16/25 - 9/23/25
On July 16, 2025, Metro began rehabilitating the elevator (C08X01) at Pentagon City Station. The work will take approximately two months to complete, and the elevator will be out of service during that time.
This project will improve elevator reliability by replacing and upgrading all major components, including a new passenger cab, controls, motors, and safety devices. This rehabilitation is part of Metro’s regular elevator maintenance program, which includes monthly and annual maintenance on all 350+ elevators and major rehabilitation work every 10-15 years.
Customer Impacts
- The station elevator will be closed for the duration of the rehabilitation work.
- Free shuttle service will be provided between Pentagon City Station to Crystal City Station, or as requested.
- The shuttle stop will be located on corner of S. Hayes Street and 12th Street (eastbound), near clock tower.
