Rockville Station Park and Ride and Kiss and Ride Repair Project
Advisory Effective: 9/1/21 - 5/1/22
Beginning on or about September 13, 2021 for approximately 5 months, Metro is rehabilitating the Park & Ride and Kiss & Ride lots at Rockville Station.
Customer Information
- Park & Ride repair work will be done in phases. In addition to parking lot resurfacing, sidewalk, curbs, gutters, and ADA ramps repairs will occur.
- All dates are tentative and subject to change.
- At all individual parking spaces, customers will receive advanced notice of the parking space closure. Accessible and reserved parking spaces will be temporarily relocated throughout construction. Adhere to posted signage at the individual parking space.
Parking Alternatives
- Rockville customers should consider parking at Twinbrook or White Flint as a parking alternative during the Rockville Canopy Replacement Project. Visit wmata.com/parking for more information about parking availability.
Project Schedule
Phase 1: Phase 1 (Auxiliary North Parking Lot) – Completed
- Duration: Approximately 2 weeks
- About 150 parking spaces will be closed
Phase 2: Park & Ride Repairs (North Section) – Completed
- Duration: Approximately 1 month
- About 150 parking spaces will be closed
Phase 3: Park & Ride Repairs (South Section) – Completed
- Duration: Approximately 1 month
- About 400 parking spaces will be closed
Phase 4: Park & Ride Entrance Repairs – Completed
- Duration: Approximately 1 month
- Temporary road closures and traffic detours will be in place
Phase 5: West Kiss & Ride Lot – TBD in March
- Duration: Approximately 1 month
- About 50 parking spaces will be closed
Phase 6: East Kiss & Ride Lot – Upcoming, TBD
- Duration: Approximately 2 weeks
- About 10 parking spaces will be closed.
Customer Safety
- Be prepared for loud noises and traffic/pedestrian detours throughout construction. For your safety, stay clear of the construction zone and follow all posted signs.
- Vehicles parked in marked construction zones will be subject to towing. If your vehicle is towed, please call Metro Transit Police at 202-962-2121.
