Temporary Detour Construction on Wisconsin Circle on July 26

Routes Affected: C83, D80, D96, M82 

On Saturday, July 26, from 5:00am until 4:00pm, buses will detour because of construction on Wisconsin Circle. Please allow additional travel time and avoid the area if possible. Please sign up for MetroAlerts at www.wmata.com/metroalerts for service information. 

Street Closures: 

  • Eastbound Wisconsin Circle between Wisconsin Avenue and Western Avenue 
  • Entrance to Friendship Heights Station Roadway (Closed) 
The following routes will detour: 

C83 Barnaby Woods – Friendship Heights eastbound to Barnaby Woods 

  • Buses begin detouring on Western Avenue at 44th Street, resuming regular route on Western Avenue, NW at Livingston Street, NW. 
C83 Barnaby Woods – Friendship Heights westbound to Friendship Heights 

  • Buses begin detouring on Western Avenue at Wisconsin Avenue, resuming route on Western Avenue at 44th Street. 
D80 Friendship Heights – Union Station northbound to Friendship Heights Station 

  • Buses begin detouring on Wisconsin Avenue at Western Avenue, NW, resuming route on Western Avenue at 44th Street, NW. 
D80 Friendship Heights – Union Station southbound to Union Station 


  • Buses begin detouring on Western Avenue at 44th Street, NW, resuming route on Wisconsin Avenue, NW at Jenifer Street, NW. 
D96 Bethesda – Lincoln Memorial northbound to Bethesda 


  • No Detour Required 
D96 Bethesda – Lincoln Memorial southbound to Potomac Park 

  • Buses begin detouring on Wisconsin Avenue at Willard Avenue, NW, resuming route on Western Avenue at 44th Street, NW. 
M82 River Rd – Falls Rd northbound to Rockville 

  • Buses begin detouring on Western Avenue at 44th Street, NW, resuming route on Willard Avenue at Friendship Boulevard. 
M82 River Rd – Falls Rd southbound to Friendship Heights 

  • Buses begin detouring on Willard Avenue at Friendship Boulevard, resuming route on Western Avenue at 44th Street, NW.
