Metro service information for Juneteenth, Thursday, June 19

In recognition of Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19, Metrorail will open at 5 a.m. and close at midnight, operating on Saturday service levels

Metrobus will run Saturday Supplemental service, to provide additional buses beyond the typical weekend schedule but less than a normal weekday. 

MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, pre-scheduled subscription trips will be canceled.

Regular weekday fares will be in effect, and parking will be free at all Metro owned parking garages and lots on the holiday.

Service Information

Metrorail

Hours: 5 a.m. – midnight 

Fares: Normal weekday fares will be in effect, with $2.25 - $2.50 late-night fares after 9:30 p.m.

Parking: Free at all Metro-owned garages and lots.

Metrobus

Hours: Schedules vary by route, check timetables for route specific schedules.

Service: Metrobus will operate on a Saturday Supplemental Schedule providing reduced weekday service, but more than a typical weekend. Not all routes will operate and some routes that previously operated under Saturday Supplement service may have changed due to recent service adjustments. Check timetables for schedules or go to the Saturday Supplemental Schedule to view which routes are running.

Fares: Normal fares.

MetroAccess

MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, pre-scheduled subscription trips will be canceled. Separate reservations can be made online or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535). Regular fares will be in effect until 5 p.m. All trips after 5 p.m. will be fare-free.
