Arlington Cemetery Metro Sidewalk Replacement

Beginning April 19, 2026, Metro will replace sidewalks on both the south and north entrances in front of the station escalators. This work will require full entrance closures on each side in phases:

  • South Entrance Closure: April 19, 2026 – May 3, 2026
    • During this time, the north entrance will remain open.
  • North Entrance Closure: May 3, 2026 – May 17, 2026
    • During this time, the south entrance will remain open.

Please plan your travel accordingly and allow extra time when entering or exiting the station.

How will this work affect my trip?

Customers will have to access the north station entrance while the south entrance sidewalks are being replaced and access the south entrance while the north entrance sidewalks are being replaced

How long will the project take?

Work to demolish and replace the sidewalks in front of the station escalators will take approximately four weeks to complete.
