Launched in 2023 through the Bus Stop and Shelter Improvements Program, our ongoing Better Bus initiative continues replacing some of the region’s oldest bus shelters—many in place for nearly 50 years. The new shelters maintain weather protection while adding enhanced safety features such as translucent walls, LED‑lit roofs for improved visibility, and designated accessibility areas with audible information devices (AIDs) and ADA‑compliant seating.
