Buses will detour due to construction on Firth Sterling Ave. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time. 

Street Closure 

  • Firth Sterling Ave SE btwn S. Capitol St and St. Elizabeths Rd 
The following routes will detour: 

W4 Deanwood-Alabama Ave northbound toward Deanwood 

  •  Buses begin detouring on Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE at Anacostia Station, resuming regular route on Randle Pl at Alabama Ave. 
W4 Deanwood-Alabama Ave southbound toward Anacostia 

  • Buses begin detouring on Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE at Malcolm X Ave, resuming regular route at Anacostia Station. 
W5 Anacostia-Blue Plains northbound toward Coast Guard HQ via Anacostia 

  • Buses begin detouring on Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE at S. Capitol St, resuming regular route at Anacostia Station. 
W5 Anacostia-Blue Plains southbound toward DC Village via Blue Plains 

  • Buses begin detouring on Firth Sterling Ave SE at St. Elizabeths Rd, resuming regular route on S. Capitol St SE at Malcolm X Ave. 
Federal law requires face coverings when riding Metro.
