Metro Focus

The Metro Focus television show is broadcast on five public access stations throughout the greater Washington region (MD, DC, VA) and online. Metro Focus provides a great platform to help riders explore all their transit options to get to some of best work and entertainment destinations. The show gives Metro customers and stakeholders a new resource to learn about metro transit services, development, business partnerships, travel, entertainment and outreach initiatives.

Metro Focus provides viewers a unique perspective on Metro support for communities, service news and useful information that affects their ride on Metrobus and Metrorail. Metro Focus is a 30-minute program that features guests, transit accessible locations, infrastructure projects and updates on Metrorail, Metrobus and MetroAccess paratransit services.

The show airs commercial free on the following stations:

Episode 17 highlights Metro's Back2Business Procurement Fair, the Customer Service Social Media Team, and our Customer Appreciation Day.  We'll also tell you about Metro's partnership with Reading is Fundamental.

Episode 16 features Escape The Room DC, Stable DC, and Metro's Bring Your Child To Work Day.  You can also learn more about Metro's U-Pass Program, upcoming Metrobus service changes, and how the Grosvenor-Strathmore Pop-Up repurposed an old Metrorail car.

Episode 15 includes visits to The Mansion at Strathmore, Beautiful Becomings, Spice Xing, and Crem Cafe.  We also take you to a meeting of Metro's Youth Advisory Council to learn more about the group's mission.

Episode 14 highlights some successful Virginia businesses. We stop by Social Burger, FXA Adult Sports League, and WHITE64. We also introduce you to MTPD's newest K-9 officers and take you behind-the-scenes at Metro's Bus Operations Control Center.

Episode 13 This African American History Month episode of Metro Focus celebrates cultural heritage.  We visit DC's MLK Library, the African American Museum of History and Culture, Sahara Dance Studio, and Twins Jazz.  We'll also show you how to navigate the new WMATA.COM web site and how to get Metro merchandise.

Episode 12 includes visits to The Highwood Theatre, Champion Boxing and Fitness, and Apollo Restaurant.  Plus, tips for using Metro on Inauguration Day and Metro's General Manager explains how Metro plans to get Back2Good.

Episode 11 includes visits to the Washington Capitals' practice facility, Del Ray Artisans, an apothecary museum, and St. Elmo's Coffee Pub in Alexandria.  Then learn about the art installation at the Spring Hill Metrorail station and how you can save money with Metro's Select Pass.

Episode 10 includes visits to Union Kitchen, Eastern Market, and Capitol Hill Crabcakes. Plus discover the new NH2, the Metrobus route to National Harbor.

Episode 9 includes visits to The Fillmore Silver Spring, School of Rock, and AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center.  We'll also share tips to help you know when the next bus will arrive at your bus stop.

Episode 8 visits historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. We stop by the Torpedo Factory Art Center, the Carlyle House, and the Stitch Sew Shop.  We'll also tell you about Metro's efforts to address sexual harassment.

Episode 7 includes visits to DC's Florida Avenue Grill, the Anacostia Library and Farragut Square Park. Also, a preview of the SafeTrack projects in July.

Episode 6 highlights summer activities in Maryland, from the shops and restaurants at National Harbor to a museum for kids that encourages hands-on participation.  We'll also explain Metro's SafeTrack maintenance program and how Metrobus service can help you get around the region.

Episode 5 explores Northern Virginia's Ballston and Crystal City neighborhoods. Plus, a look behind the curtain at 1st Stage Theater and lean more about Metro's Smart Benefits and Travel Training programs.

Episode 4 includes visits to the Newseum, Ben's Chili Bowl and TheARC.  Also, a look behind the scene's at Metro's Lost & Found and MTPD's Security Operations Control Center.

Episode 3 includes visits to the Goddard Space Flight Center, Prince George's African American Museum and Culture Center and the Music Center at Strathmore. Also, behind the scenes at Metrobus' Landover division and a rider perspective from a disability advocate.

Episode 2 showcases the Silver Line highlighting new developments the rail line has helped to build in Northern Virginia.  Also, see how Metroway is helping people getting around and how easily Metro riders can grab a car or a bike near Metrorail stations.

Episode 1 features Georgetown Cupcakes, Blues Alley, Phillips Collection, and Calabash Tea and Tonic. Also in the premiere episode, meet Metro GM Paul J. Wiedefeld, see how the Metro Transit Police Department trains with other local agencies for emergencies, and learn how a rider with a disability navigates the Metro system.
