A wheelchair accessible vehicle will be available at the same location as shuttle buses unless otherwise noted. Customers are also encouraged to consider regular route Metrobus service as an alternative and Red Line customers traveling to/from downtown Dec 22-24 may also consider transferring to/from the Green Line via Fort Totten.

Rail Service Information

December 18-29*

No Red Line service between Dupont Circle and Gallery Place.
Trains will operate in two segments:
- Between Shady Grove and Dupont Circle every 8 - 10 minutes.
- Between Gallery Place and Glenmont every 10 - 12 minutes.
Farragut North and Metro Center (upper level) closed

December 22-24 weekend only

No Red Line service between Dupont Circle and Union Station.
Trains will operate in two segments:
- Between Shady Grove and Dupont Circle every 8 - 10 minutes.
- Between Union Station and Glenmont every 8 - 10 minutes.

Rail Alternatives to get Downtown

From the Shady Grove side of the Red Line

Take Red Line to Dupont Circle, take Shuttle 2 to Farragut West and take the Blue, Orange, or Silver lines.
Take the Red Line to Dupont Circle and take Shuttle 3 (stops at Farragut North, Metro Center, and Gallery Place).

From the Glenmont side of the Red Line

Red Line service to Gallery Place is available Dec. 18-21 and Dec. 25-30.
Dec. 22-24 only - Take the Red Line to Fort Totten and transfer to the Green Line to Gallery Place.

Rail Alternatives to get to Union Station

From Shady Grove side of the Red Line

Take the Red Line to Dupont Circle and transfer to Shuttle 3 (local service to Gallery Place), then take the Red Line to Union Station.

From Glenmont side of the Red Line

Red Line service is available from Glenmont to Union Station.

From Virginia

Take the VRE Fredericksburg Line from Franconia-Springfield, King St (Alexandria), or Crystal City
Take the Yellow Line to Gallery Place then take the Red Line to Union Station.
Dec. 22-24 only - Take the Yellow Line to Gallery Place then take Shuttle 1 or 3 to Union Station.

From Maryland

Take the MARC Penn, Camden, or Brunswick Line to Union Station.
