Bike to Metro
We’re upgrading bike parking across the system! New lockers, smart racks, repair stations, and u-racks are being added over the next few years. The first installations begin at Foggy Bottom (Nov 17–19) and Eastern Market (Nov 20–22).
Some amenities may be unavailable for a few days during installation but will be ready to use immediately after. Please look for posted signs and remove all personal property from existing lockers and racks before installation begins.
Lockers and smart racks will be available through an app for on-demand, hourly rentals (lockers: 5¢/hour, up to $1/day; smart racks: free). Check our revamped bike locker page for updates and future station schedules.

Bicycles provide a flexible last mile transportation option, extending your Metro trip. Metro's bicycle parking facilities include:
- Bicycle racks: Convenient places to lock your bicycle at most stations.
- Bike & Rides: Free, secure facilities at eight stations.
- Bicycle lockers: Upgrades are beginning to roll out to support your adventures.
- Bus bicycle racks: Located on the front of all Metrobuses.
