LEED® at Metro

Metro is committed to helping move the region forward by providing efficient, safe, and reliable service. Each of the initiatives under our Sustainability program has a positive impact for our customers and employees by enhancing the environment and access to opportunity. One of our sustainability initiatives involves using Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) standards in building design and construction.

Administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED® is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and serves as the benchmark for sustainable building practices. Metro uses LEED® guidelines as a tool to enhance building performance, resource efficiency, and community stewardship.

Metro's commitment to LEED® standards aligns with a core focus of our Strategic Transformation Plan: Environmental Sustainability. Currently, twelve of our facilities earned LEED® Silver certification or higher. By using LEED® as a tool, we create healthier workspaces for our employees, enhance building operations and cost efficiency, and are a good neighbor in the communities where we operate and serve.
